Tracy is a seasoned human resources leader, educator and coach with more than 25 years of professional experience across private and public sectors. She is both a visionary strategist and a hands-on operational leader. Tracy focuses on relationships and strives to understand the uniqueness of her clients in order to tailor strategic solutions and education initiatives that meet her clients’ needs. Her industry background includes government, higher education, public relations & communications, financial services, IT consulting, and health care.
Tracy is a trusted advisor and leader in talent management, including recruitment, retention, learning and development, and organizational health and wellness. An authentic champion of diversity and inclusion, Tracy has been focused on leading organizations through cultural and systemic change. In her role as Director with the Public Service Commission, Tracy led her team in the development of a corporate diversity, equity and inclusion strategy and education program for the Government of Nova Scotia. As the Director of Talent Management at Dalhousie University, Tracy discovered her passion as an employment equity leader, implementing progressive equity education for faculty and staff as well as career opportunity programs for equity-seeking groups.
Tracy is a passionate educator with both corporate and academic teaching experience. She has created and facilitated corporate workshops on topics such as Fair and Equitable Hiring, Unconscious Bias, and Inclusive Leadership, and she has instructed courses in Organizational Behaviour and Human Resources in the Faculty of Management at Dalhousie and the Advanced Human Resources program at the Nova Scotia Community College.
She holds a Master of Business Administration in Human Resources and Marketing from Dalhousie University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and French from Saint Mary’s University.
Tracy has actively supported immigrant and newcomer communities through her volunteer work with the Immigrant Settlement Association of Nova Scotia (ISANS), the Greater Halifax Partnership Connector Program, and the Growing Communities initiatives with Dalhousie University.
